Dr. Haynes (Educator and healthcare leader), Monifa Martin (Physician Assistant), and Sekena Rochelin (Fitness Expert) will be discussing health and wellness at our next Café. Come prepared to chat about what health and wellness mean to you? They will be discussing the connections to other chronic medical conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, weight management, and more and the impact sound and consistent health and wellness can have on you physically and psychologically!

The event is open to the public and an excellent opportunity to come together, learn, network, and grow together to make a difference in your life and the lives of others. Dr. Shawishi Haynes 

Dr. Haynes has been in the Health Care industry for nearly 30 years. At the beginning of her career, she spent several years working for the Federal Government. Following that, she had the pleasure of leading in multiple sectors within the healthcare industry, including Acute, Mental Health, Ambulatory, Primary Care, and Healthplan Operations at both the facility and Regional Levels. Dr. Haynes is Board Certified by the American College of Healthcare Executives, has a Doctorate in Education, a Masters in Healthcare Administration, and multiple healthcare certifications. In addition to her administrative career, Dr. Haynes is also an educator. Shawishi served as a Lead Faculty Area Chair for more than ten years, Research Methodologist, Dissertation Committee Advisor, and Mentor. Dr. Haynes has taught healthcare at the graduate and postgraduate level for more than a decade, and She is a member of the Design Thinking Advisory Board for UC Irvine. She is passionate education; gaining and sharing knowledge, she enjoys cooking when time allows, sports and most importantly spending time with her family.

Sekenna Rochelin

Sekenna holds an MBA in Healthcare Management. She is a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer who specializes in age-appropriate programming with a specific focus given to cardiovascular and strength training in combination with balance and flexibility training. She also serves as a health and wellness committee member for Los Angeles County. She has a background in health and fitness, as well as athletic performance training with over 20 years of experience in the field. Her passion for fitness began through my love of sports and developed as a varsity athlete in track and field and basketball.

Monifa T. Martin- Roberts. P.A.

Monifa Roberts is a Physician Assistant formerly from Chicago, Illinois, but California has been her home since 1992. Monifa graduated from California State University Northridge with a Bachelor of Arts in General Biology and later went to PA school at Western University of Health Sciences, where she earned her Masters in Physician Assistant studies. She currently practices at Concentra Urgent Care and works in Industrial Medicine and Urgent Care for the last 15 years. Before that, her medical practice included family medicine and Women's Health. Her joy in life is her family and working to help others.
