Authors of Impact | HOPE FIL 2027
HOPE 2027 — 28th International Families & Fathers Conference
A place where stories become books, books become voices, and voices create impact.
This Is Not Just a Book Room.
Authors of Impact | HOPE FIL 2027 is a three-day active literary and publishing hub where people can move through the entire life cycle of a book — from “I have an idea” to “I am already published and ready to expand my reach.”
Newport C will become a working literary salon: a welcoming place to discover books, meet authors, strengthen manuscripts, explore publishing, learn from professionals, create new possibilities, and connect stories with purpose.
You may be a reader. You may have one sentence written. You may have a completed manuscript sitting on your computer. You may already be a published author. HOPE FIL 2027 is designed to help you identify where you are — and imagine where you can go next.
Follow the Journey of a Book
Move from possibility to publication — and from publication to influence.
One Room. Many Experiences.
HOPE FIL will remain alive throughout the day with short conversations, author appearances, professional connections, manuscript development, books, resources and opportunities to learn.
HOPE FIL Book Talks
Published authors share the story behind their work through scheduled 10–15 minute conversations, brief readings and meaningful connections with readers.
Writer's Corner
Have an idea but do not know what comes next? Explore manuscript development, chapter organization, editing, ISBNs, covers, distribution, children's publishing, translation and publishing pathways.
Publishing Conversations
Short, practical conversations connecting author + editor, author + designer, author + publisher, author + audiobook producer, author + illustrator and author + translator.
Meet the Professional

Author Media Lab
Explore social media, author branding, Facebook Live, digital storytelling, book launches, presentation decks and creative ways to extend a book's reach.
HOPE FIL Digital Catalog
Discover participating authors, books, themes, websites, QR links, signing opportunities and professional availability through a sustainable digital-first catalog.
A Working Literary Salon
Not rows of chairs. Not a traditional exhibit hall. Newport C will be designed for movement, conversation, exploration and creativity.
Participants will be able to discover a book, sit with a writer, hear an author speak, scan a digital catalog, discuss a manuscript, meet a publishing professional or simply find a quiet place to write their next idea.
Inside Newport C
One flexible space. Multiple points of discovery.
HOPE FIL Book Talks
Short enough to keep the room moving. Meaningful enough to make someone want to read the book.
10–15 Minutes With an Author
Participating authors will have opportunities to share the heart behind their books, offer a brief reading, connect with readers and invite participants to continue the conversation during designated signing and engagement times.
The goal is not another long presentation. The goal is connection.
Four Questions That Matter
Meet the Authors Becomes the Celebration.
Our traditional Monday Meet the Authors experience becomes the social launch of HOPE FIL 2027.
Meet the Authors is not competing with HOPE FIL. Meet the Authors opens the door to HOPE FIL.
The Writer → The Book → The Reader → The Impact
HOPE FIL will not be limited to promoting finished books. The experience will explore the larger publishing ecosystem.
Learn From the People Behind the Book
Publishing is more than writing. HOPE FIL creates opportunities to understand the professionals, decisions and creative work that help turn an idea into a finished publication.
Meet the Publisher / Meet the Professional
Scheduled short conversations can connect participants with:
- Editors
- Publishers

THE HOPE BOOKSHELF
Voices That Inform, Inspire & Impact
Participating authors may provide a physical copy of their book for display alongside other HOPE FIL authors — regardless of publisher.
Readers can discover titles through the physical display and continue exploring through QR pathways and the HOPE FIL digital catalog.
Authors may also choose to leave a legacy by donating a copy after the event for future community, educational or family-serving use.
We Organize Around Impact — Not Only Genre.
HOPE FIL connects literature with the people, families, professions and communities our books are meant to serve.
I Have a Book in Me.
Some people will arrive at HOPE FIL without a published book, without a completed manuscript — and maybe without a single page written.
They still belong here.
Imagine sitting with published authors, writers and publishing professionals and finally giving that idea a working title, a direction and a possible next step.
HOPE FIL is not only about celebrating completed books. It is also about creating the courage to begin.
Borinquen Within Press
Publishing Resource Partner & Author Development Studio
Borinquen Within Press will serve as one resource within the broader HOPE FIL publishing ecosystem — helping aspiring and established authors understand their options without pressure and without requiring a publishing commitment.
Where Are You in Your Journey?
Idea only • Writing • Manuscript completed • Editing • Design • Already published • Seeking distribution • Seeking an audiobook • Seeking translation • Seeking speaking opportunities • Exploring publishing options
BWP may offer manuscript consultations, Ask a Publisher conversations, book-concept reviews, author-readiness conversations, publishing-pathway guidance and information about editing, design, ISBNs, distribution, digital publishing, audiobooks and author development.
The relationship begins with service — not a sales pitch.
You Do Not Have to Be Published by Us to Belong Here.
HOPE FIL 2027 is designed as an open literary and professional community where diverse authors, publishers, voices and pathways can participate.
Published authors, aspiring authors, readers, educators, librarians, illustrators, editors, publishing professionals, book clubs, students, nonprofit leaders, community organizations and anyone curious about the journey of a book are invited to discover what HOPE FIL can offer.
Publishing With Purpose. Connecting With Care.
HOPE FIL 2027 will embrace sustainable practices whenever possible. Rather than relying on large quantities of disposable printed materials, participants will be encouraged to use digital catalogs, QR pathways, online resources and reusable displays.
Sustainability is not about doing less. It is about creating smarter connections that last longer.
Digital author profiles, electronic schedules, QR codes, online resources and a living HOPE FIL catalog can help readers continue discovering authors long after the conference ends.
Our goal is to help books, ideas and relationships travel farther while reducing unnecessary waste.
Three Days. One Journey.
The experience progresses from discovering the story to creating the book to expanding its impact.
