Overview of Mindfulness Section
FFCA will introduce support skills, add new skills, knowledge, and techniques to use engaging families, parents, children and a niche on mindfulness working with fathers. Mindfulness training is one segment of a 15-hour in the Fathers and Families Coalition of America’s Advanced Practitioner Credential. "The application of mindfulness can offer families, parents, children, and practitioners the opportunity to move from reacting to their experiences to responding, thereby aiding in emotional regulation. Individuals can create change in thinking and behavior by decreasing the activation of the stress response. Family therapists who are mindful can increase objectivity and are less likely to act upon negative countertransference. This training will provide skill development, experiential activities and start the journey for those in the Advanced Practitioner Credential, Fatherhood Life Coaching Certificate to gain an additional discus four-step MAC Mindfulness Guide of empathic acknowledgment, intentional attention, nonjudgmental acceptance, and action toward change."
Fathers and Families Coalition of America's Advanced Practitioner Credential is approved for a total of 11 contact hours. FFCA continuously examines our Practitioner Credential with review by approved continuing education providers to ensure the fidelity of the training meets or exceeds the competencies of community-based education, professional development, and capacity building assistance. A glance of our syllabus will give participants a greater understanding of the intended credential impacts to help those who are working with children, parents, families, and communities as well as methods to engage fathers in their practices.
