Dr. Sherry P. Ulmer Pioneer Award:  Imam Abu Ishaq Abdul Hafiz – A distinguished leader and former Federal Bureau of Prisons Muslim Chaplain. He has led the Southern California Shura Council's prison outreach program and is currently the resident Imam at Masjid Al Shareef in Long Beach, CA.

Friday, April 11 – Specialty Training & Professional Development
In addition, this day will offer Specialty Training Programs, allowing professionals to obtain advanced certifications in key areas of family and behavioral health support. Specialty Training Programs Include:

Advanced Practitioner Credential Course – Led by Dr. James C. Rodríguez, MSW, this course integrates cognitive neuroplasticity, emotional intelligence, and trauma-informed approaches for professionals working with families.


Nurturing Fathers Curriculum Training – Led by Mark Perlman, M.A., this evidence-based training equips fathers with essential parenting skills to strengthen father-child relationships.


QPR Suicide Prevention Training – Offered in partnership with Florida A&M University, this program trains professionals to identify and intervene in crisis situations.
