A Quick Guide to Being a Girl Dad:
How to create an everlasting bond with your daughter

The first step to becoming a Girl Dad is about as simple as it gets: brand yourself as a Girl Dad. When it comes to setting goals and changing habits in your life, one of the best pieces of advice is to start referring to yourself as whatever you aim to be. If you want to start getting up earlier and making the most of your mornings, start referring to yourself as a morning person. If you decide you want to write a book as a side project, call yourself an author. Label yourself as a photographer if you have a passion for taking photos and want to make a career out of it.

When you brand yourself with a certain title or as a type of person, you effectively become that brand. You will be surprised at how quickly you start making decisions that fit into the wheelhouse of the brand you are working to identify as. The activity follows identity. Once you begin to see yourself as a Girl Dad, you'll find it easier to do Girl Dad things. They start to become automatic, like prioritizing time with your daughter.
 Dad and Daughter

As a Girl Dad, you have the power to lay the foundation for an incredible relationship with your daughter. By understanding what she truly wants - to feel worthy, special, and loved - you can take intentional actions to make her feel this way. It all starts with knowing your daughter well and finding ways to make her feel valued and appreciated. Take a moment to put yourself in her shoes and see the world from her perspective. Help her realize how unique and capable she is, and make sure she knows just how much you love her. With your guidance and support, the sky is truly the limit for what your daughter can achieve.
If you are ready to dive into some examples of how you can help her feel worthy, loved, and special or discuss all the little things that have a positive, lasting impact, please join me at my workshop at the 25th International Families and Fathers Conference. As a father of a daughter, creating an everlasting bond with your little girl is one of the most rewarding experiences you can have. It's a journey that requires patience, love, and dedication, but the result is a beautiful and unbreakable connection that will last a lifetime.
